2014 Conference
The 2014 UALE Annual Conference will take place in Los Angeles, CA MArch 26-29.  Once more information is available, we will add a "Conference 2014" page to this website (under the "Conferences" tab.)

 

2013 Women's Summer Schools

Northeast Regional Summer School for Union Women

“Raising our voices: Women's Leadership for Democracy in our work, our country, and our world!”

The 38th UALE Northeast Regional Summer School for Union Women, will take place July 20-25, at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. 

Western Regional Summer Institute for Union Women

“Women Emerging as Leaders”

The Western Regional Summer Institute will take place at the University of Washington, Seattle, WA, from June 25 – 30.

Midwest/Southern Women's School for Union Women

The Midwest and Southern schools have merged this year, and will host their combined school August 15-18, in Little Rock, AR at the Wyndham Riverfront Little Rock.

Non-UALE Events

The UCLA Labor Center Annual Banquet will take place on May 23 at The Center at Cathedral Plaza, 555 West Temple Street, Los Angeles. Reception 6:00 pm; dinner 7:00 pm. Honorees will be Joseph Hansen, International President, UFCW; California State Senator Kevin de León; CA State Assembly member Holly Mitchell, and Josh Pechthalt, President, CA Federation of Teachers. The Canadian Association of Labour Media (CALM) Conference will be held May 23-25 at the University of Alberta, Edmonton. Information available here: http://calm.ca/conference.

 

The Labor and Working Class History Association National Conference "Rights, Solidarity & Justice: Working People Organizing, Past and Present" will be June 6-8, 2013 in New York City. See the website: www.lawcha.org/annualconference  for the full program and registration information.

 

"Fighting Forward" - the 2013 conference of the Working Class Studies Association - will be held June 12-15 in Madison, Wisconsin. More than an academic conference, this will be a gathering of working people, community and labor activists, students and educators focused on building a revitalized movement in support of labor and the working class.
